The Australian Tax Office is currently planning to implement a new income tax processing system from 1 February 2010. They will only implement the new system when they are confident it is ready. This major system change will involve temporary service delays and they thank you for your patience with the upgrade of the system.
Systems shutdown and deployment
While they implement the new income tax processing system, many of our systems will be unavailable for the period 22–27 January 2010. The ATO systems shutdown is timed to minimise disruption to those who interact with them.
What you need to do
It is recommend that business expecting a refund to have their activity statements lodged as early as possible.
