Australia’s first national Paid Parental Leave Scheme will start on 1 January 2011. It will provide eligible working parents with 18 weeks of government-funded pay at the national minimum wage, currently $570 a week before tax. More Details at www.familyassist.gov.au
Same sex couples have equal standing in family tax and are eligible for spouse provisions.
The baby bonus scheme has closed.
